Description

Remarkable specimen containing good green vivianite (ferrous phosphate) crystals with excellent luster in its crevices, from the Aubin-Decazeville coalfield, more precisely Cransac, located southeast of Decazeville in Aveyron.
These crystals are formed in vacuoles produced by the melting of coal beds under the influence of underground fires. Vivianite is a photosensitive mineral.
