Fluorite, Padiès mine, Tarn.

75,00

Fragment of a polysynthetic cube of indigo blue fluorite, showing a succession of blue to violet lines following the growth of the crystal.
A limonite patch is present on the back.
A piece to take in hand and look at in the light to appreciate its beauty.

This fluorite specimen comes from the Padiès mine in the Tarn, France. The Padiès vein belongs to the same very complex vein network as the Montroc, Burc, Trébas and other fluorspar mines. This 270 m long and 100 m deep vein was discovered by Ugine and exploited from 1970 to 1973, then by SOGEREM, notably between 1989 and 1992.
