This mineralogical sample comes from the Kruth sector in the Saint Amarin valley (Upper Thur valley), in the Haut-Rhin region of the Vosges mountains.

In 1951, the Commissariat à l’Energie Atomique discovered a pitchblende vein in the road’s T-shaped trench. According to the label, the sample was found in 1976.
