40,00

Geocronite is a mixed sulfosalt containing lead, antimony and arsenic, with the formula Pb 14 (Sb, As) 6 S 23. It is found in hydrothermal veins, generally associated with other similar minerals, particularly iron and copper sulfides.

This small sample, rich in brilliant massive geocronite and siderite, comes from the Cougnasses mine at Orpierre in the Hautes-Alpes.

This is a very small mine located between Orpierre and Laragne-Montéglin in the south of the département. Mainly exploited before the French Revolution, the mine was abandoned in 1907.
