130,00

Set of fluorite crystals from the Avellan mine in the Var, discovered during the mining period in the 1970s and 1980s. This mine is located in the crystalline Provence in the commune of Adrets-de-l’Estérel.

The largest crystal has a width of 6.5 cm.

The deposit was known in the first half of the 20th century, and in 1961, the Industrial and Mining Company of Fluorine resumed operation, then transferred it to the Société des mines de Garrot. The latter operated the deposit on three levels from 1962 to 1971. It ceased operations considering the deposit to be exhausted, following a decline in profitability and moved the activity to other sites.
