Fluorite, Padiès mine, Tarn.

85,00

Crystal in cube of blue fluorite very aesthetic, letting appear a succession of blue to violet borders following the growth of the crystal.
Small technical detail, the top of the crystal has a purple coloring defect, the most beautiful effect.
A mineralogical specimen to be seen in transmitted light to appreciate the edgings.

This fluorite from the Padiès mine in the Tarn is particularly colorful, a nice collector’s item.

Approximately 210,000 t of ore were extracted from this deposit, which is rather small on a mining scale. The fluorite mineralized vein was about 270 m long and 100 m deep. The actual operation lasted only a few years, from the 1970s to the 1990s.
