A very large and delicate specimen of acicular pyromorphite in the characteristic “meadow” green of its locality: the Saint Salvy mine, near Castres, in the Tarn department.

The Saint-Salvy-de-la-Balme mine, in operation from 1974 to 1993, was a mine exploited mainly for zinc, but also for germanium and silver.
