Very beautiful set of crystals of baryte (or barytine) well green translucent and gem associated with a little malachite.
The green hue of the barite is due to inclusions of malachite (a copper carbonate). We also note the presence of iron and manganese oxides on the surface and in inclusions in the piece.
A bright and intact specimen with a nice size.
This crystal was collected at the Shangulowe mine in Kambove, Katanga Province, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
This copper and cobalt deposit has provided the best baryte specimens in the Congo.
