Large green apatite crystal, stony but bright, and showing a nice termination, mineral from the Silver Crater mine, Faraday Township, Hastings County, Ontario, Canada.
This site presents skarns famous for the fluoroapatites, sometimes calcic, which one finds there. Nevertheless, samples of this size are not very frequent.
This specimen is from the mineral collection of Deyrolle, a former naturalist dealer in Paris. It comes with its original label, which dates from the 1950s/1970s.
