This sample comes from the municipality of Ehrenfriedersdorf, in the Chemnitz district of Saxony, Germany. Most of the mineralogical specimens labelled Ehrenfriedersdorf come from the nearby Sauberg mine.

It comes from the mineral collection of the famous Paris naturalist Nérée Boubée (1806-1862), and is delivered with its handwritten label.
