Large, very dark blue sapphire crystal with a beautiful patina. Very good size for the sector.

These sapphire crystals (a variety of corundum) come from the alluvium of the Riou Pezouillou, a stream in the commune of Espaly-Saint-Marcel, near Le Puy-en-Velay, department of Haute-Loire, Auvergne.

These alluviums have provided numerous crystals of blue sapphire and yellow zircon. Today, it is very difficult to find them.
