Remarkable biterminated quartz crystal of the highest quality, among the best available in the Mont Blanc massif in Haute-Savoie.

Specimen discovered in a furnace located in the Golden Pilar, a rocky outcrop between the Talèfre glacier and the Rochassiers, reputed to have produced exceptional smoky quartz.
