Description

Very interesting mineralogical specimen: We have a quartz crystal covered with finely-crystallized white quartz next to a large baryte crystal completely transformed (pseudomorphosed) into quartz (white and finely-crystallized). The core of the old barite crystal is empty.

From the Idarado Mine (a former 19th-century copper-silver-zinc mining operation) in Ouray, Colorado, USA.
