Excellent and very aesthetic specimen showing large fluorite octahedrons (5 cm edge) covered with finely crystallized and very bright quartz. The green fluo under the quartz gives a pleasant bluish tint to it.

On the side of the specimen, yellow to green fluorite cubes cover some octahedra.

The bottom of the piece is not crystallized.

The mine of La Barre, in the commune of Saint Jacques d’Ambur, in the Auvergne, department of Puy de Dôme, now closed, is located in the former mining district of Pontgibaud. It is known among other things for the magnificent blue fluorite cubes that have been discovered there.
