Description

Sample of prixite, a fibrous variety of mimetite named after its typical locality: Saint Prix, in the Saône-et-Loire region. More specifically, it comes from the old Molérats lead mine, which opened in 1785 and operated for around ten years, then episodically from the 17th to the 20th century.

Here, prixite is associated with crystals of mimetite, chrysocolla, cerussite and galena.
