Mussite is the name given by the mineralogist Bonvoison to a diopside found at La-Balme-de-Mussa, in the department of Po, then attached to the French Empire (1806).
Specimen from the Pian de la Mussa in the Val d’Ala, in the Piedmont region of Italy, which has yielded famous hessonite garnets.
