Mottled galena, Pfannenberger Einigkeit mine, Siegen-Wittgenstein, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany.

Galena crystals with macle.

A yellow-green oxidation crust can be seen all over the sample, especially on the back. A small amount of quartz accompanied by golden-looking micro-crystals (pyrite, or even chalcopyrite?) are also visible.

Here and there, the galena reveals a beautiful sheen.

From the Pfannenberger Einigkeit mine, Salchendorf, Neunkirchen, Siegen-Wittgenstein, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany.

This sample comes from the mineral collection of Deyrolle, the famous naturalist dealer of the last century.
