Description

Large specimen (~1kg) of bicolored fluorite ranging from light blue to violet, with a “melted” appearance, to be admired in the right light.

A particular area of the Boltry quarry yielded this type of specimen in the 1950s/1970s. It’s long gone.

This discovery is world-famous for the variety of colors of its fluorite masses, and the gemmity of its cores, which can often be used to cut stones.
