Description

Exceptional set of blood red cuprite crystals, in truncated octahedrons, nicely altered associated with some fibrous green malachite.

This type of specimen has been stripped of its malachite to reveal the cuprite.

Specimen from the Ojonga (Onganja) mine in Namibia, discovered in the 1970s.

This deposit has provided some exceptional specimens, such as this one, and few have preserved their original patina.
