Calcite, Biesmerée quarry, Mettet, Namur province, Belgium.

60,00

Very fine set of perfectly automorphic calcite crystals with a beautiful golden color and crystallized on almost all sides of the sample.

There are a few minor breaks, as there almost always are on specimens from this locality, as they were collected in the early 1970s, when the few people who had permission to access the quarry collected what they could, as best they could, on the short time available. Very good quality nonetheless ;).

This calcite comes from the quarry at Biesmerée (called Lepoivre, a village not far from Abbaye de Maredsous), in the Mettet section of the Namur province in Belgium.
