Description

Large black baryte crystal with sharp edges. It’s a large, handsome Belgian specimen from the Lompret quarry near Chimay.
The faces are slightly corroded.
The quarry exploits Frasnian limestone and shale for the production of aggregates for road paving and concrete. There are Frasnian fossils, calcite, baryte and galena.
