Anatase on quartz, Opprebais quarry, Incourt, Belgium.

25,00

The Opprebais quarry has been exploited since the Middle Ages for quartzite (or Devilien quartzite), an extremely hard rock produced by the recrystallization of sedimentary sandstone. The quarry has been closed since the 1970s, and transformed into a friendly rural space.

The specimen displays a few crystals of sub-millimeter anatase on their quartz gangue. A rare sample of Belgian titanium mineral from Incourt (near Brussels), Walloon Brabant, Belgium.
