Description
A nice little floating specimen, showing a light yellow-brown Stolzite crystal.
An unusual mineral, stolzite is a lead tungstate.
It was discovered in the mine of Sainte Lucie in St Léger de Peyre in Lozère, a deposit which gave the best known specimens of the species, as well in size (up to 7 cm!), as in aesthetics.
The sample presented here is delivered with its base of 3.2 cm of side.
