Description
Destinezite, or diadochite, in whitish kidneys, nice size.
Great classic of Belgian mineralogy, from a quarry between Richelle and Visé, not far from Liège.
Destinyzite is an iron phosphate from the Argenteau coalfield in Belgium. Described in 1880, it was subsequently downgraded to diadochite, then recently rehabilitated as a mineral species, around 1999/2000.
Specimen from the Hubin collection with original label.
